My name is Ryan Smyth and I am from Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, but I live in Seoul, South Korea. I've been here for about a decade, so I suppose that makes me an expat (ugly word really). Incidentally, my sister and aunt and uncle all live in Hong Kong. I suppose that makes them expats too :)
I've been working with computers since I was a kid. I've never used punch cards, but I remember sending email from a UNIX command line. There are certain computer languages that I like, some that I program in, and others that I can read, but don't program in.
I've written many different kinds of software ranging from web applications, server side components and serial servers to media production tools and database applications. Most are not publically available, but a few are. One tha's publically available is Audio WASP. There's a lot in it that I'd like to fix up, but I'm no longer with the same company. Like a lot of developers, I also have a 'real' job where I take care of international marketing and well, a lot of other things as well.
And yes-I play the guitar too. I also 'play around' on the keyboard, but I wouldn't call myself a keyboardist.
My goal here at Renegade Minds is to provide as many people as possible with as much value as I can. For some that's going to be a simple tutorial or a snippit of code. For others i''s going to be software to improve their guitar or piano playing. Either way, I hope you enjoy Renegade Minds and take advantage of some of the things I've made available here
